These eleven permutations are based on the Chinese Element Cycle. The advantage of the Chinese Element Cycle over the Western pentagram: it shows how the elements support and impede each other. These elements are not the common fire, water, etc. These are energetic elements or vibrational matrices that mingle to constitute atoms.
Mind that this is an intellectual exercise. These elements, in particular the spirit, ether, or First Matter, shall be discovered (by opening the third or single eye). The discovery of the First Matter marks the beginning of the Great Work.
The first variation: translate the Chinese elements into the Western elements. The correspondences:
- Wood – Spirit (argument: wood is alive and spirit is the life-power)
- Fire – Fire (argument: color and name match)
- Earth – Earth (argument: color and name match)
- Metal – Water (argument: both are white)
- Water – Air (argument: both are blue and air it round)
Don’t be confused that it isn’t easy to match the elements. This is hard-core practical spirituality, hence top secret. Such topics are usually blinded to prevent abuse.
In the next permutation, we put the Spirit up. This is the pentagram of White Magic. The pentagram of Black Magic shows the Spirit at the bottom. Mind that the Black Magic pentagram is the common state of mind. People are not in control of their mind and subject to the play of the elements. This will become clearer in one of the later permutations. Don’t take Black Magic too seriously, Black Magic simply means selfishness.
The next permutation shows the five tattvas. The five elements have distinct colors and geometrical forms. This is how you can discover these forms without the third eye: place one of those portable blue-tooth loudspeakers on a table, those who use the table as a sound amplifier. Next, sprinkle fine sand on the table. Play various tone through those speakers and the sand will assemble geometrical forms that are a combination of one of more tattvas.
The next variation shows the macrocosmic states of matter. Plasma is defined as an electromagnetic system.
The five elements don’t only constitute the physical universe, but also the mind. That explains how Astrology works: the flow of the five cosmic elements resonate with the flow of our minds.
From the five basic states of mind: love, intention, desire or emotion, thought, and action, the five root desires are derived:
The most basic experience is that of things and situations. When we get bored, we become scientists, curious of the invisible. When that gets tiring, we strive to become artists or technicians, creatively applying the discoveries we made. Next is the experience of success, the pushing through obstacles to succeed with our art or inventions. When that gets dull, we are ready to become prophets – witnesses of spiritual states of mind.
The next variant illustrates the five moralities, the positive application of the mind’s five states:
With the help of this cycle we can assess the state of evolution of a particular person. Mind that all five elements need to be evolved to advance a spiritual career.
Last but not least, the five states of holistic health:
