The Creator is the Master Magician. The world exists in His mind. He dreams the world. But this isn’t an ordinary dream and it isn’t a messy one either. It’s a choreographed dream of epic proportions.
The world isn’t real for the Creator and neither is it for us. Genesis 1.27: Elohim created the human in His own image, in the image of Elohim did He create him. We are creators too and can get involved in the Grand Dream, create within creation. Our true, divine self dreams its personality and experience.
All that we see or seam is but a dream within a dream. – Edgar Allen Poe.
When Elohim ceased its creative activities, we carried on. The Shabbath, the seventh cosmic day, goes on with mankind. It is sacred, because we inherited Elohim’s creative powers (mind that ‘creative powers’ is the literal meaning of Elohim). We have, are, and will be magicians. How so? The physical manifests itself around our mental creations. We attract things, people, and circumstances according to the way we dream, imagine, think, feel, and act. But we do so mostly subconsciously and what comes around does so somewhat delayed. We struggle to trace back experiences to past thoughts, images, or emotions that created them.
This place is a dream. Only a sleeper considers it real. Then death comes like dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief. – Rumi.
We are already magicians! All we have to do is shifting our awareness from the dreamt (personality) to the dreamer (true self). That’s why the Greek wrote Realize Your Self on the Temple of Delphi, the epicenter of their mystical tradition. That’s what Jesus did too: he perfected his self-awareness. And after that he said puzzling things like I and the Creator are one, and Before Abraham was, I am (symbolically speaking, Abraham is the ancestor of human personality).
How can we become aware of the magician in us, the dreamer? The crux of the matter is our brain awareness. Fused to senses and common sense it can’t hold the awareness of our higher existence. We can’t remember.
We need to evolve our personality and walk the path. Tarot card 18 shows the path of spiritual enlightenment. Mind the title, the Moon, and that the moon is an Astrological symbol of memory. How to evolve body and mind so the dreamt can embrace the dreamer? Practice the great work, Yoga, meditation, Qabalah, Tarot, mystical experiences, prayers, the Art of Dreaming, Tensegrity, Tai Chi, Chi Gong, mantra chanting, fasting, magical rituals, and last but by no means least experiences. All you need to succeed in becoming a magician is available right here and now.
Our ‘second ring of power,’ the ‘attention of the nagual,’ remains hidden for the immense majority of us, and only at the moment of our death is it revealed to us. There is a pathway to reach it, however, which is available to every one of us, but which only sorcerers take, and that pathway is through ‘dreaming.’ ‘Dreaming’ was in essence the transformation of ordinary dreams into affairs involving volition. Dreamers, by engaging their ‘attention of the nagual’ and focusing it on the items and events of their ordinary dreams, change those dreams into ‘dreaming’.
