To seek the Divine in the sky,
As a fledgling, gave my all.
Like Icarus, I flew too high,
Wasn’t ready for the fall.
But once on ground I looked around,
And beauty fairest filled my sight.
From dirt and rocks to trees and sky,
To ocean birds sustained in flight,
I saw the Divine in everything,
And heard God’s voice in every sound.
With every breath I breathe Him in
And everything I lost, I’ve found.
For graces seen, and graces hidden
For love received and love given,
He Whom I sought I always had:
God is without, God is within.
To His Providence thanksgiving give,
Let anthems of wondrous praise resound.
We can dwell in Heaven while we live.
